Add items

There are several ways to add a product to the receipt or add a new item to the receipt, which are described in more detail below. Different input methods are available depending on the product type.

Option 1 – Free price entry

To add a product with any price, first enter the desired amount in pence on the numeric keypad and then press the product key. The item is added to the receipt with the number 1 and the selected unit price.

Example: Key input and input field

YAML
                           350 |

Example: Position and document

Conditions

  • Price entry does not work for products with a fixed price.

  • Amounts must be entered in cents (without commas).

Free price entry with repeat entry

If a price is entered before selecting a product, it is temporarily stored with the product and displayed below the product title. The same product can be scanned multiple times in succession at the same price by repeatedly pressing the product button.

Example: Key input and input field

YAML
                           350 |

Example: Position and document

This process can be repeated until the CL button or another button is pressed.

Option 2 – Fixed price

Press the desired product button to add it to the receipt. The item is added to the receipt with the number 1 and the unit price stored for the product.

Example: Key input and input field

YAML
                               |

Example: Position and document

Conditions

  • This feature does not work for products with free price entry.

  • The input field must be empty (except for quantity entries).

Variant 3 - Item number

A product can be added to the document using its item number. First, enter the appropriate item number on the numeric keypad and then press the "Item No." key. The item is added to the document with the quantity 1 and the unit price stored for the product.

Example: Key input and input field

YAML
                         12345 |

Example: Position and document

Conditions

  • This feature does not work for products with free price entry.

Item number with repeat entry

When a product is entered using an item number, this number is temporarily stored. The same product can be entered several times in succession by repeatedly pressing the "Item No." button without having to re-enter the item number.

Example: Key input and input field

YAML
                         12345 |

Example: Position and document

This process can be repeated until the CL button or another button is pressed.

Option 4 – Scan product

A product can be added as an item by scanning the barcode. No button needs to be pressed for this. The item is added with the quantity 1 and the unit price stored for the product. For products with free price entry or overwritable prices, the corresponding amount must first be entered in cents using the numeric keypad.

Example: Key input and input field

YAML
                               |

Example: Position and document

Conditions

  • A barcode must be stored for products in advance.

  • A scanner must be connected to the device.

  • For products with free price entry, an amount in cents must be entered first.

Scan product with repeat entry

If a price is entered before selecting a product, it is temporarily stored with the product and displayed below the product title. By re-entering the price, the same product can be scanned multiple times in succession by repeatedly scanning the product.

Example: Key input and input field

YAML
                        350 |

Example: Position and document

This process can be repeated until the CL button or another button is pressed.

Multiplier (quantity of the item)

To add items with a different quantity, this must be entered before selecting the product. The quantity is selected using the numeric keypad, then the "X" key (multiplier) is pressed, and the product can then be added using one of the methods described above. The item is added to the receipt with the selected quantity.

As soon as the "X" key is pressed, the selected number appears in the quantity memory in the input line.

Decimal numbers (with commas) can also be entered for quantities.

Example: Key input and input field

YAML
                             5 |
YAML
5x |

YAML
5x 350 |

Example: Position and document

Solution

The input field must not be empty.

Some functions (quantity, product with free price, item number) require a number to be entered before they can be activated.

First enter the number using the numeric keypad and then repeat the entry.

The input field is not empty.

Products with a fixed price cannot be scanned if a number has been entered previously.

Clear the input field by pressing the "CL" key and then repeat the input. For quantity inputs, press the "X" key after entering the number.

Product with item number "XY" was not found.

There is no product with the selected item number or barcode in the master data.

Check the item number and then repeat the entry or scan the barcode again. If the product has been deleted from the master data or the number has been changed, the person responsible for programming the cash register can provide more information.

Decimal input not allowed.

The price of a product cannot be entered as a decimal number. Amounts must always be entered in pence. Item numbers cannot be entered as decimal numbers.

Check the price entered and re-enter it in pence using the numeric keypad, then press the product button again. Check the item number and then repeat the entry.

The price entered is too high.

A price mask has been defined in the product group and the amount entered exceeds the maximum amount that has been configured.

Enter a lower amount for the product or contact the person responsible for programming the cash register to adjust the price markup in the product group.
