Configure Scales Barcodes

With the scales barcode function, EAN codes created by pre-packaging scales or self-service scales and attached to the respective products (supermarket) can be scanned and transferred directly at the register.

The barcode configuration can be found in the main menu in the Master Data section under the menu item ‘Products’ and the menu item ‘scales barcode’.

Note

The configuration depends on the scales barcodes used, which are defined by GS1 in the national appendix of the GTIN description for each country. If no predefined standard configuration is used, the character structure can also be configured by the user.

Predefined configuration

To enable scanning of a scales barcode in GS1 format, the corresponding country-specific definition can be selected in the Configuration field.

Press the orange ‘Save’ button in the lower right corner to save the configuration. From now on, products can be added to the shopping cart as items by scanning a barcode in the selected format. The information contained in the barcode is automatically transferred to the shopping cart.

The configuration can be terminated by pressing the ‘Cancel’ button or by pressing the ‘x’ button in the upper right corner - all settings will be lost.

Custom configuration

To set up an individual barcode configuration, select ‘Custom’ from the drop-down list in the ‘Configuration’ field.

This selection allows you to compile the contents of the scales barcode according to your own requirements.
