Report in FinanzOnline

After activating the cash register, you have to register it and the signature card in FinanzOnline. The info you need for this is printed when you start it up and you can check it anytime by pressing the ‘Fiscal Status’ button.

The following data is required for activation:

• Signature or seal creation unit

  • Type of security device

  • Trust service provider

  • Serial number of the signature or seal certificate

• Cash register

  • Cash register identification number

  • Comments

  • User key AES-256

  • Checksum for user key

Please note

The cash register identification number must be unique for each company (participant identification ID in FinanzOnline). If several registers are used, each register has to have a different identification number.

Checking the initial receipt

After reporting to FinanzOnline, the initial receipt has to be sent to FinanzOnline. To do this, you need to follow these steps:

• Request an authentication code in FinanzOnline: To do this, you have to go to the ‘Manage authentication codes for verification app’ function in FinanzOnline. On this page, use the ‘Request code’ function to generate a twelve-digit code, which will be displayed in the list.

• Installing the verification app on a smartphone/tablet: The BMF Belegcheck app is available for free for Android and iOS (iOS 8.0 or higher) at http://www.bmf.gv.at/kampagnen/Unsere-Apps.html . If you do not have your own smartphone/tablet, you can also use someone else's.

• Verifying the initial receipt: To do this, start the app and then select the ‘Scan code’ function. Use the camera function that now appears to photograph the QR code printed on the initial receipt. Then enter the authentication code generated previously and click the ‘Login’ button. If the verification is successful, a confirmation message will appear on the smartphone/tablet, indicating that the cash register has been successfully put into operation.
