Definition of terms
This glossary describes terms as they are used in primasello to bridge the gap between previous experience, industry knowledge and the primasello online user manual.

Receipt | Any receipt created in primasello is referred to as a receipt. This includes cash invoices, cancellation invoices, cash withdrawals, cash deposits, entertainment receipts and any cash register closing. |
User | A user is a registered user in primasello who can perform functions in the system. |
User manual | The user manual contains descriptions and instructions for commissioning, operating, programming and maintaining the primasello cash register. It is available to all users online at http://docs.primasello.eu . |
user number | Each user is assigned a unique number in primasello. This number allows the user to log in to the cash register. Also: operator number, cashier number |
billing | All items added to the shopping basket are referred to as registered. Pressing a product button registers this product or adds it to the shopping basket. Also: Register |
billing interface | The receipt interface is the start page of the primasello cash register. This is where most actions are performed and items are entered or receipts are created. Also: user interface, cashier interface, start page, cash register page |
Gross | The gross amount is the total amount of an invoice or the price of a product including statutory tax. (Example: net amount €10.00 + 19% VAT = gross amount €11.90) Opposite: net |
Function | A function is any action performed on the cash register. This refers, for example, to the function keys on the receipt interface. Also: action, command |
Login | The term "login" refers to the act of a user signing in to the system. Also: sign in, log in Opposite: logout |
Logout | "Logout" refers to a user signing out of the system. "Logout" is the English term for "signing out". Also: Signing out, logging out Opposite: Login |
Net | The net amount is the total amount of an invoice or the price of a product without (excluding) statutory tax. (Example: net amount €10.00 + 19% VAT = gross amount €11.90) Opposite: gross |
PIN | The PIN is a user's password and consists of any sequence of numbers (usually 4 digits). Also: password, secret number, code, secret code |
Product | A product is defined as any goods or services sold by a company. Also: item |
Productgroup | A product group is used to sort products with similar characteristics (e.g. beverages, food, cut flowers, potted plants, men's clothing, women's clothing). The tax rate for the products contained in the product group is specified in the product group. Also: product category, article group |
Programming | Programming refers to the configuration of the cash register. This can include editing master data, changing the receipt interface or creating products and payment methods. Also: configuration, setup |
Position | Each line on a receipt is referred to as an item. An item contains the quantity, description, unit price and total price of products, or the description, percentage and amount in the case of discounts. The subtotal is also an item on the receipt. Also: line, entry, registration |
Return | A return refers to the reversal of a sale for products that have already been sold. If a customer returns goods and receives a refund, the return must be recorded in the cash register. Also: return, refund, return shipment, complaint |
Button | A button is a clickable area on the interface that performs a specific action or is used to enter numbers. |
Cart | In primasello, the item list with total line is referred to as the shopping cart. Actions can also be performed here with the listed items. Also: Operator display |
Numeric keypad | The numeric keypad refers to the number keys (0-9) together with the "X" key (multiplier), the "CL" key (clear) and the "," key (comma). The numeric keypad is used to enter numbers in the input field. Also: numeric block, number pad, number fields, keyboard |
